Email an introduction letter to Wes Cusworth cusworthw@wintv.com.au (phone 58233699) stating which school you are from and would like to be considered for a work experience placement. Also list your: School subjects (you have to be studying MEDIA) / Career goals / Preferred dates (even if you don’t want to do the placement till later in the year, it’s better to lock in dates now or you will miss out).
PLACES – The Age

The Age work experience program lasts four days (Monday to Thursday) and runs from March to October each year and is open to all students who are 16 years or older. Applications for this program are taken in writing stating why you should be considered for the program and give some possible dates. Apply for work experience at the Shepparton News in Dec / Jan to secure a placement.
The Shepparton News only takes ONE student per month. A request letter is required stating WHY you want to do work experience and what area you are interested in (editorial/journalism, photography or graphic design) plus a resume and a list of possible dates This should be written in editorial style (not just dot points) taking care with grammar and punctuation. When approved send a work experience arrangement form.

Work experience for the Herald Sun runs for one week between March and December each year. Closing date for applications is usually Dec 31st each year. To apply, students need to complete the Application for Work Experience Form and write an essay (details and an application form are available on the website).
Areas of work experience include Editorial, Photography, Graphic Design, Advertising, HR, IT, Library Systems and Finance.
